Frequently Asked Questions

Why Reform Ateliér Pilates?

Reform Ateliér is a hidden gem—intimate, refined, and free from the noise of larger studios. With just three reformers per session, you will receive focused, personalised guidance in a space that feels calm, elegant, and completely judgement-free. It is a place to move, grow, and feel your best—without pressure, just presence.

What is Pilates, and what are key benefits?

Pilates is a low-impact exercise method that focuses on core strength, flexibility, and body alignment. It improves posture, balance, and mobility, making it great for injury prevention and recovery. Regular practice enhances muscle tone, mind-body connection, and overall well-being, helping you move more efficiently in daily life.

Do I need prior experience to attend classes?

No prior experience is required! Our small class sizes (max 3 people) allow for a highly personalised approach, so beginners will receive plenty of guidance. If you’re new to Pilates, you can still join our Dynamic Pilates classes, but if you’d like to build confidence and learn the basics first, we recommend starting with a private session. This will help you get the most out of your group classes.

What should I bring to my first Pilates class?

Wear comfortable, form-fitting workout clothes. Grip socks are recommended for hygiene and stability. We provide mats and all necessary equipment, as well as sterile wipes and face towels for your convenience.

How often should I do Pilates to see results?

For noticeable improvements in strength, flexibility, and posture, we recommend at least 2-3 sessions per week. Pilates is not just about physical strength—it also enhances mind-body connection, helping with focus, coordination, and overall well-being.

Can Pilates help with back pain or injuries?

Yes! Pilates is excellent for improving posture, core strength, and mobility, which can help relieve pain and prevent future injuries. If you have an injury or condition, let your instructor know so we can modify exercises to suit your needs.

What’s the difference between mat and reformer Pilates?

Mat Pilates focuses on controlled, bodyweight exercises on a mat, while Reformer Pilates uses a specially designed machine with adjustable resistance for deeper, more dynamic movements. Both styles build strength, flexibility, and alignment in different ways.

Do I need to book classes in advance?

Yes, we recommend booking in advance, as our small class sizes (maximum of 3 people) fill up quickly. You can book easily through our website or app.

What is your cancellation policy?

We have a 24-hour cancellation policy. If you need to cancel or reschedule your class, please do so at least 24 hours in advance. Late cancellations or no-shows will result in the session being deducted from your package. This ensures fairness for all clients and allows us to offer your spot to someone else.

Can I attend classes if I am pregnant?

We have certified instructors experienced in supporting pre and postnatal clients. However, as every pregnancy is unique, we recommend contacting us directly before booking. Please email info@reformatelier.com and we will guide you personally.
